The world lost its Mriya (Dream) during the Russian attack

According to confirmed sources, the Antonov AN-225 Mriya, the world’s largest airplane, was destroyed by Russian forces while undergoing maintenance at Antonov Airport, roughly 20 miles outside of Kyiv.

With a length of around 276 feet and a wingspan of approximately 290 feet, the six-engine Mriya (Ukrainian for “dream” or “inspiration”) was the largest aircraft ever built.

The Antonov airport at Gostomel is considered a strategic target because it has the capability of delivering troops and equipment to the capital city in a short period of time.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted on Sunday, saying that Russia may have destroyed his country’s “Mriya,” but that the country’s “goal of becoming a powerful, free, and democratic European state” would never be destroyed. “We are going to win!” he said

When asked if the AN-225 “Mriya” had been destroyed, Antonov was careful to say yes, tweeting on Sunday that “we cannot remark on the technical condition of the aircraft until the aircraft has been assessed by experts.”
