USAF successfully tested modified GBU-31 JDAM against naval target

The US tested a modified GBU-31 JDAM against a naval target, literally wrecking it.

Specifically, in its announcement, the USAF states:

“The Air Force Research Laboratory and the Test Team demonstrated a new low-cost, naval threat-neutralizing capability on April 28, 2022, which successfully destroyed a full-scale surface vessel in the Gulf of Mexico.

An F-15E Strike Eagle released a modified GBU-31 JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition), as part of this test is the second QUICKSINK Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD) experiment “US Research and Engineering”.
