An imminent display of a new generation stealth fighter jet aircraft has been announced at the Airshow China 2021 in Zhuhai. The aircraft, designed by China’s state-owned AVIC, is expected to be delivered before the end of this year.
Judging by the published images, the stealth aircraft is being developed on the basis of the popular FC-31. This aircraft has been in design for more than ten years – it made its maiden flight in October 2012.
Foreign experts believe that its design borrowed technical solutions previously used on the American F-22 and F-35 fifth-generation fighters. Meanwhile, the FC-31 took off on two Russian RD-93 engines with a thrust of 8,618 kg, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Its mass can reach 28,000 kg, the combat load is 5900 kg, the maximum speed is 2150 km / h. Crew: one pilot. The combat radius is 1250 km.
In addition to the internal compartments designed for air-to-air missiles, weapons, including those intended for strikes against ground and surface targets, can be hung on external nodes.
Chinese-designed WS 13A engines are currently reported to be installed.
