Egypt suspended normalization talks with Turkey

Al-Arabiya sources reported on Friday that Egypt has temporarily suspended talks on normalizing relations with Turkey.

Al-Arabiya’s article added that Cairo suspended contacts with Ankara until Egyptian requests regarding Muslim Brotherhood were quickly implemented, noting that Turkey’s slow withdrawal from Libya caused al-Sisi’s strong frustration and the suspension of meetings with Egypt.

Al-Arabiya sources said Ankara has asked for more time to withdraw its military advisers and mercenaries from Libya – but Egypt has demanded that Turkey immediately and unconditionally withdraw from Libya.

According to Al-Arabiya sources, Turkey has pledged to implement further measures against the Brotherhood before the end of Ramadan, but Egypt has informed Turkey of the need to speed up this action against the Brotherhood.
