On Saturday, Iranian state television aired footage showing an secret Iranian air force drone base for drones that is located in the western part of Iran beneath the Zagros mountain range.
The precise location of the base was not disclosed.
However, a TV reporter stated that he was able to reach it from the city of Kermanshah by taking a helicopter ride that lasted for almost 40 minutes according to media sources.
Iranian State Television published a video that showed Iran’s chief of staff for the armed forces, General Mohammad Bagheri, as well as the commander of the Iranian army, Abdolrahim Mousavi, visiting the underground site.
According to the report, there are more than one hundred drones used for combat, reconnaissance, and attack that belong to the Iranian Armed Forces and are kept for operations in this base located somewhere beneath Zagros mountains.
According to Bagheri, who was quoted by Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA, the location is a “safe operational base for strategic drones.” Bagheri also made the point that Iran “never underestimate threats, and never assume that the enemy is asleep, and is constantly alert and vigilant.”
