The hypersonic message of Putin with Kh-47 Kinzhal missile in Ukraine

Russia claimed on Saturday that it had used a Kh-47 Kinzhal hypersonic missile to hit military targets for the first time in the war of Ukraine.

A video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense shows the missile hitting a target and destroying it completely, mainly wanting to send a message to the West.

The use of the hypersonic missile is certainly a demonstration of strength towards NATO as it is not considered operationally necessary given the state of the Ukrainian Air Defense.

Specifically, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated: “An Ammunition depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed by a high-precision missile attack”

“The Kinzhal hypersonic missile destroyed a large underground warehouse containing rockets and ammunition in the village of Deliatyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

According to the information, the missile that was launched on Friday is classified as a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missile, which Kinzhal means “dagger” and can reach speeds of about Mach 10.
