The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the repatriation of Syrian fighters from Libya has been completely suspended by Turkey in violation of the agreement to withdraw foreign mercenaries.
SOHR sources said only a small number of mercenaries returned to Syria from Libya.
They added that the suspension has caused a state of discontent among these mercenaries, as they demand to leave Libya as soon as possible.
Last month, SOHR reported that the Turkish government sent a new batch of 380 Syrian mercenaries to Libya from Constantinople.
“There are still more than 6,630 mercenaries in Libya – amid Turkish intentions to keep groups of Syrian fighters backed by Turkey in Libya to protect Turkish interests” the SOHR statement concluded.
