A senior U.S. defense source said Monday that Russian soldiers have made little progress in the country’s new offensive in eastern Ukraine.
A senior source according to “the Hill” told reporters that “We still see anecdotal reports of poor morale of troops, indeed officers, refusing to obey orders and move and not really sound command and control from a leadership perspective.”
In a later statement, the official stated that “midgrade officers at various levels, including battalion level, have either refused to accept instructions or are not obeying them with the same measure of alacrity that you would expect an officer to comply.”
Ukraine seems to be a big challenge for the Russian Army as it has failed to capture most major Ukrainian cities except Mariupol and Kherson.
