“The enemy (Ukraine) used an unmanned quadcopter drone to help its artillery units firing against the Donetsk region. The drone was shot down by an air defence station operated by the People’s Militia in coordination with electronic warfare equipment,” said the head of the Luhansk Militia.

On Thursday morning, the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics reported heavy bombardment by Ukrainian security forces, including heavy weapons, with no casualties reported.

Ukraine blames Donetsk and Luhansk for the escalation of hostilities.

The small Ukrainian Drone that crashed is not a Bayraktar TB2 that was covered by foreign media but a commercial DJI MAVIC 2, according to the photos published by the Luhansk militia.

The “Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics” have declared their independence from Ukraine, but are not recognized by any UN member state as independent states.
