39 PLA aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwest air defence identification zone (ADIZ)

The Ministry of National Defence of Taiwan (R.O.C) announced that today, January 23, 2022, 39 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwest air defence identification zone (ADIZ), with Y-9 EW, J-10, J-16, Y-8 ELINT, and H-6 aircraft.

Taiwan immediately responded by increasing its air force patrols and by putting its air defence missile systems on combat alert to keep track of this situation.

This is something that happens almost daily as China has stepped up its military movements against Taiwan with increasing numbers of Chinese Air Force fighter jets approaching constantly the air defence identification zone of the island.

As we want to remind you, when it comes to territorial and diplomatic issues, Taiwan is China’s most sensitive and recurrent source of conflict with the United States. This right to use force to retake control of Taiwan has never been denounced by China.
