North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has vowed to speed up the development of banned nuclear weapons during a military parade in Pyongyang to celebrate the founding of the North Korean military, a major national holiday for the country.
The night parade also featured the largest and most recent intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) developed by North Korea.
“We will continue to take steps to strengthen and develop our nation’s nuclear capabilities at the fastest pace,” Kim Jong-un was quoted as saying by a Korean news agency.
“In preparation for a turbulent political and military situation and all kinds of crises in the future. We will further increase our nuclear power at the highest possible speed,” he added.
