PASSEX | French frigate in exercise with Greek Frigate Salamis and HAF

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, PASSEX (Passing Exercise) of the Greek Frigate Salamis and the French Frigate AUVERGNE took place in the wider sea area southwest of Crete, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff announced.

During the joint training, objects of composition and exchange of tactical image, communications, advanced maneuvers, and anti-aircraft war (Air Defense Exercise-ADEX) were performed with the participation of a total of 6 fighter aircraft. Of the participating aircraft, 4 were F-16s from the 116th Combat Wing and 2 F-4s from the 117th (CW).

The specific joint training was conducted in the framework of the international collaborations of the Greek Armed Forces according to the planning of Hellenic National Defence General Staff and contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability, and cooperation of the participants in bilateral and allied contexts.
