Satellite photos published by US & Ukrainian media show the recent large-scale concentration of Russian military forces near the Ukrainian border.
The satellite imagery shows large volumes of military equipment, including self-propelled guns, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles about 300 kilometres from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
On Monday, US Defense Department spokesman John Kirby said the Pentagon was aware of reports of unusual Russian military activity near Ukraine.
“I can not talk about Russian intentions, but we are certainly closely monitoring the region, as we always do. “Any escalation of aggression would be of great concern to the United States,” Kirby added.
On Tuesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov told reporters: “The movement of our military equipment or our military units throughout the territory of the Russian Federation is entirely our business. “Russia has never threatened, does not threaten and does not endanger anyone.”
