Turkey expressed its dissatisfaction on the Iraqi government’s response to the Turkish military operation against Kurds in northern Iraq, with a procedure of the Iraqi charge d’ affaires.

The previous week, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry had summoned the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad and handed him an “intensively formulated” note for the violation of the country’s sovereignty.

Iraq has also called on Turkey to withdraw all its military forces from its territory.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry, in a statement to the Iraqi charge d’ affaires, accused the Iraqi government of making “baseless allegations” about the military operation.

The Turkish military regularly violates Iraq’s borders to conduct operations against PKK in Iraqi Kurdistan. Iraq has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Turkish troops, explaining that it considers Turkish operations to be a violation of its territorial sovereignty.
