Turkey is simultaneously launching an attack and an approach on Israel, as Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolu called his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid to wish him “good recovery” and his ministry launched an attack on Israeli state policies.
According to the Jerusalem Post’s Lahav Harkov and other Israeli journalists, Cavusoglu called his Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, to wish him a “good recovery” after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
According to the journalist, the Israeli Foreign Minister has already recovered, and the possibility of a meeting between Presidents Isaac Herzog and Erdogan in Ankara is being discussed.
However, the Turkish Foreign Minister announced a day before the Turkish Foreign Minister’s sudden interest in his Israeli counterparts health, that he condemns the expulsion of Palestinians from areas of Jerusalem and accused Israel of violating international law and undermining peace.
Turkey has been attempting to normalize relations with Israel to some extent but at the same time launch “attacks” against the Israeli state and strongly defends the Palestinians on the case of Jerusalem.
It should be remembered that in May of last year, during the Israeli-Gaza conflict, while Turkey had already begun diplomatic approaches to Israel, Erdogan proposed sending an army to Jerusalem in support of the Palestinians, and prayers were also offered to recently turned into a mosque, Byzantine Chuch of Hagia Sophia in support of the so-called liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
