On Tuesday, a spokesman for the UN Secretary-General said the United States had expelled a Russian diplomat from the UN Secretariat in New York.
In response, the Russian Foreign Minister on Wednesday announced that the reluctance of the USA to negotiate, leaves Russia with no choice but to also deport an American diplomat from Moscow.
He also urged Washington to be “reasonable” and not to escalate further after the expulsion of the Russian official from the United Nations Secretariat.
“All this is happening in the midst of a clear consultation between both the UN Secretary-General himself and the UN Secretariat, obediently playing the role of accomplices in the face of current lawlessness,” the Russian ministry said.
