During his meeting with the Chairman of the Presidential Council of the State of Libya, Mohamed Al Menfi, Egyptian President Al Sisi reiterated Egypt’s commitment to finding a political solution, while also expressing his wish to work more closely with Libya’s political actors.
“Egypt’s fundamental goal is to ensure peace and security for our Libyan brothers and to help express the free will of the Libyan people through the preservation of the unity of Libyan territories, restoration of peace and stability, and the end of foreign interference,” Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stated.
Al-Menfi expressed his intention to work with Egypt to ensure that Libyan elections are held on time and that the Libyan people have a brighter future.
Elections in Libya would harm those with “bad intentions and interests,” according to Egypt’s president, who blamed third nations for the problems that occurred with the upcoming elections in Libya.
All parties must “up to the occasion” and “act properly and wisely,” he said, so that Libya may overcome this crisis and “stop the suffering of its people,”
