The German Minister of Defense Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer arrived in Turkey on Wednesday to meet with her counterpart Hulusi Akar in Ankara.
Acoording to German media, the two ministers are going to talk about the tensions in the eastern Mediterranean, the outcomes of the recent NATO summit, and the withdrawal of the US-led forces from Afghanistan.
Turkey is looking to settle a series of defense deals with Germany, including a fleet of submarines and parts for its tank program.
We remind you that a few days ago the German government rejected the bills of the opposition parties in the Federal Parliament for the imposition of an arms embargo on Turkey.
The Greens and the Left-wind Party had separately submitted bills to the Federal parliament for an arms embargo against Turkey, citing the tensions between the European Union and Turkey, the recent wars in which it has been involved and the occupation of northern Cyprus.
