Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis met in Jerusalem today, Tuesday, where they met with the Israel PM Naftali Bennett and the President of the state Isaac Herzog within the framework of the 8th tripartite meeting of the three countries.
In his statements before the summit, the Israeli Prime Minister, after welcoming the Cypriot President Anastasiadis and the Greek Prime Minister, stated that the tripartite cooperation is beneficial for all three countries, their peoples, but also the region, noting that We are three Republics with geographical proximity and we have a common vision regarding the future and the prospects for our countries.
He added that “at the same time we recognize the threats in our complex region that are of common concern”, such as the effects of climate change, health issues and security due to terrorism.

For his part, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, referring to regional challenges, pointed out Turkey’s unacceptable challenges in Varosia and its unacceptable demand for a two-state solution, noting that the only viable solution is one that fully respects the decisions of the Security Council of UN.
There can be no solution, he said, without the abolition of the anachronistic system of guarantees and invasive rights, as well as without the withdrawal of the Turkish occupation troops from Cyprus.
