In recent weeks, South Korean sources have warned local media that North Korea is ready to carry out its first nuclear bomb test in almost five years.
South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday that Kim Jong Un appeared to be hastily constructing a tunnel at his country’s nuclear test site preparing a seventh underground nuclear explosion.
If this new nuclear test is carried out, it will be the first since September 3, 2017, when North Korea tested its most powerful nuclear bomb to date.
The warning comes just days after KIM tested the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Hwasong-17, which according to North Korean leaks could hit even the United States.
The latest information on North Korea’s nuclear test plans comes from South Korean military and intelligence officials, who spoke to Yonhap News Agency.
