An exercise between of Hellenic Navy units with a French maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) and a PASSEX took place southwest of Crete.

According to the announcement of Hellenic Army General Staff on “Saturday 04 June 2022 and in the context of international cooperation of Greek Armed Forces according to the planning of HNDGS, co-training PASSEX (Passing Exercise) of Hellenic Navy’s the Frigate LIMNOS, the Submarine MATROZOS and a Helicopter S-70B with the French Air Force, ATLANTIQUE-II, in the wider sea area southwest of Crete.

During the joint training, advanced high schools and anti-submarine warfare items were carried out.

The co-training contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability and interoperability of the participants and is part of the “Guidelines for the Upgrading of the Greek-French Military Cooperation” signed on January 21, 2022 between Greek General Konstantinos Floros and General Thierry Burkhard the Chief of Staff of the French Army,” HNDGS announcement states.
