Ukrainian Ministry of Defense authorities reported that today, on March 16, 2021, at 14:05, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter violated Ukraine’s airspace in the Sumy region.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed about the sending of a letter to the Russian side demanding to inform the circumstances of the violation of Ukrainian airspace by a Russian helicopter
”Today, the border outfit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in sumy region recorded the arrival of a helicopter from the Russian Federation at a distance of about 50 meters to the territory of Ukraine.
After that, he turned in the opposite direction and left the airspace of our state.
In this case, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine immediately sent a letter to the border department of the FSB of the Russian Federation in the Belgorod and Voronezh areas about the violation of the regime of the state border of Ukraine by a Russian helicopter and a request to inform the affiliation of the aircraft and the circumstances that led to the violation.
A response from Russia’s border guards is currently pending. According to this fact, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine also immediately informed all interested ministries and agencies.”
