Exercises: ADEX and PASSEX of the Hellenic Air Force and the Hellenic Navy west of Crete

According to a recent announcement by the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, Greek forces exercised with SNMG-2 west of Crete and proceeded to conduct both PASSEX and ADEX exercises.

Specifically, according to the announcement:

“On Thursday, July 21, 2022 and in the context of the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces in accordance with the planning of the Greek Armed Forces, a joint training PASSEX (Passing Exercise) of the Frigate (F/G) ELLI was conducted with Units of the Standing Allied Naval Force 2 (Standing NATO Maritime Group Two – SNMG-2), to which the F/G KOUNTOURIOTIS has also joined, in the wider sea area west of Crete.

During the joint training, subjects of composition and exchange of tactical image, communications, targeting, advanced maneuvers, electronic and anti-air warfare (Air Defense Exercise – ADEX) were performed with the participation of 2 F-4 and 1 AEW&C EMB-145H of the Hellenic Air Force.

The joint training in question contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability and cooperation of the participants in an allied context” concludes the announcement.
