Greece’s General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA) reconstituted the monitoring and implementation committee on September 28, 2026 for the August 3, 2005 Greece–Germany agreement on used Leopard 2A4 tanks. The decision followed a September 18 letter from the Hellenic Army General Staff and changes the committee’s membership. It contains no announcement of a new tank purchase.

M109 spare parts and ELFON registration

The Army’s Base Support Division, MERYV, extended the delivery deadline to December 15, 2026 for three implementing contracts with Lentzios P.–Minas P. OE. The September 29 decision covers spare parts for M109A1 and M109A2 self-propelled howitzers needed for repair work at the 301 EB and 308 PEV facilities, as well as parts for M/S 240 GD and 290 GD/GDT vehicles.

The amendment followed a request by the contractor and favourable opinions from the contract monitoring and acceptance committee. It changes the delivery timetable under the existing contracts.

In the defence industry, GDDIA approved ELFON Ltd’s initial registration in the Unified Register of Defence Sector Enterprises, known by its Greek acronym EMEAT. The decision, dated September 28 and published on September 30, was made under Presidential Decree 59/2025. The company’s registration certificate bears number 1000.060.00.

Gulfstream inspections and air traffic control simulator

For the Hellenic Air Force, an October 5 multiannual obligation certificate confirms approval of €4.3 million for 2027 to support the third implementing contract under framework agreement 34/24. This concerns the Gulfstream V aircraft’s periodic 19A and 24C inspections. The certificate requires the Air Force to include the relevant appropriations in its 2027 budget.

The Air Force Procurement Service also moved the bid deadline for repeat tender 13/26, covering the supply and support of one air traffic control simulation system. The budget is approximately €976,238 including VAT. Bids are now due by 3 p.m. on October 30, 2026, with opening scheduled for 10 a.m. on November 4. The September 30 notice states that the tender’s other terms remain unchanged.
