Aliyev: “Zangazur corridor, will unite the whole Turkic world”

Azeri President Ilham Aliyev made a statement about the Zangazur corridor in statements during the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Fuzuli and Zangilan (Kovsakan).

More specifically Ilham Aliyev stated: “Zangilan is located in the Eastern Zangazur region, and the Zangazur corridor passing through it will unite the whole Turkic world. Both Azerbaijan and Turkey are taking practical steps to realize the Zangazur corridor. I am confident that these steps will bear fruit in the near future.”

Erdogan also during his visit stated: “The day will come and we will be able to reach Istanbul (Constantinople) from Zangilan” Erdogan expressed his opinion during a joint session in Zangilan (Kovsakan) with the president of Azerbaijan, that automobile roads and railways across that area will create economic and commercial relations not only for Azerbaijan and Turkey but also for all countries in the region.

“We are in favour of stable peace and regulating multilateral relations, but that requires determining government borders and mutually recognizing them. In such matters, Armenia needs political will to solve problems with Azerbaijan. If Armenia shows the sincere will to regulate relations with Azerbaijan, then no obstacle to regulating relations between Turkey and Armenia” Erdogan concluded.
