The 21st Theater Sustainment Command of the US Army announced on its Twitter account that a Greek delegation is in Germany, where it is based, to get familiarised with the armored vehicle M1117 with soldiers of the 18th Military Police Brigade.
“Our partners from Greece came to Kaiserslautern this week to take part in a military vehicle familiarization of the M1117 armored vehicle with 18th MP soldiers, helping to strengthen strong co-operation between Greek and US troops.” wrote the 21st TSC.
It is noted that Greece a long time ago had expressed interest in acquiring 1200 M1117 vehicles and the US had given approval and even for free transfer by the US military.
The delivery of the M1117 is expected to take place in the coming months if it does not get another postponement.
