The US Pentagon announced an increased readiness of 8.500 troops that will be ready to be headed to Eastern Europe.

More specifically, the US Pentagon announced a few hours ago that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has put 8.500 US armed forces troops on increased readiness to deploy to Eastern Europe in case the NATO Rapid Response Force (NRF) is activated due to tensions with Russia.
“This is actually to reassure the eastern side of NATO and also to demonstrate how seriously the United States takes the alliance’s commitment to NATO and Article Five,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.
However, Kirby reiterated the US position that NATO and the United States will not fight alongside Ukraine in the event of a Russian invasion but will only respond through sanctions against Russia and military assistance with delivering weapons and supplies.
