The Greek armed forces appear to be on increased readiness in the islands of the eastern Aegean, according to multiple reports of Greek media.
The increased Turkish provocations of the last few days, such as the multiple air space violations, the overflight near Alexandroupolis, the increased border crossing efforts by groups of immigrants and refugees from Turkey, as well as the new Turkish illegal NAVTEX, probably led to the state of readiness.
In addition, Evros which is located to the Turkish-Greek border is being shielded even more by Greece, as the fence is to be extended, according to a statement by Greek Minister Notis Mitarakis which said that the fence, will be extended by 80 kilometers.
