Israel’s Ministry of Defense has taken part for the first time in a defence exhibition in Morocco, opening a national pavilion at the Marrakech Airshow 2026. The ministry says it is Israel’s first official participation in such a show in the country since the Abraham Accords.
According to a ministry press release dated 8 October, the pavilion was opened by SIBAT, the ministry’s International Defense Cooperation Directorate, which also led a delegation of Israeli defence industries to the show. The release does not give the exact dates of the airshow.
Who exhibited
Eight Israeli companies exhibited. Five of them shared the national pavilion: ASIO Technologies, Orbit Communication Systems, SHILAT Optronics, UVision Air and XTEND Systems. Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael exhibited separately.
The ministry lists loitering munitions, AI-powered robotic systems, autonomous navigation for UAVs, laser guidance for FPV drones and satellite communications among the technologies on show. The three large industries presented solutions across air, land, sea, space, intelligence, cyber and digital domains. Meetings were held with delegations and government officials from several countries during the exhibition, the ministry says, without naming them.
What the ministry says
The head of SIBAT, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas, said that Israel’s first participation in an exhibition in Morocco “marks an important milestone” and that SIBAT serves as “a gateway to Israel’s defense ecosystem”. The ministry says the pavilion supports its strategy of raising defence exports and cooperation worldwide, which it argues also strengthens the IDF’s force build-up, influences foreign policy and supports the defence industry and the economy.
The release does not mention any contract or agreement signed in Marrakech, and no Moroccan official statement on the Israeli presence was found. On Morocco’s own procurement, Geopolitiki has reported on Morocco’s first F-16 Block 72 makes its maiden flight.
